Our Revival Heritage and Legacy

Believers in the US Church promote and celebrate their Godly history and heritage, and it spurs them on to believe for greater things in these highly significant days. We in Britain and Ireland, for the most part, are unaware of our heritage. We believe God wants this to change.

'For He established a testimony….Which He commanded our fathers, That they should make them known to their children; That the generation to come might know them, The children who would be born, That they may arise and declare them to their children, That they might set their hope in God, And not forget the works of God,……And may not be like their fathers............  The children of Ephraim, being armed and carrying bows, Turned back in the day of battle. They….. forgot His works And His wonders that He had shown them.

Psalm 78 is a sorry tale of people who forgot what God had done, didn't celebrate it, didn't pass it on to their children and grandchildren to spur them on to even greater works and exploits. We can change that record in our time!  Bill Johnson records in the Introduction to his book, 'When Heaven Invades Earth', how he would creep out of bed as a child to listen to stories of the Glory of God in Revival from people who'd experienced it firsthand. The results of his exposure to that testimony are being seen in Redding, California as the church there together press into even greater works.

For radical followers of Jesus in Britain and Ireland, we have an equally impressive heritage and history – in fact more so, because the US was touched and transformed by many Brits and Irish also! George Whitefield, John and Charles Wesley, Smith Wigglesworth all had significant and lasting impact in America. Evan Roberts – though he never went there personally, touched the life of one of the Azusa Street revivalists and ignited a flame that spread to the States. One of the few Faith Giants chronicled in Roberts Liardon's book 'God's Generals', who moved in mighty healing miracles yet remained free from error or corruption, was an Oxford graduate. The Great Awakenings in Ireland are studied by pursuers of Revival across the Atlantic. St Patrick took faith in Jesus to Ireland accompanied by signs and wonders.

We encourage you to explore our Godly heritage. Be inspired by your legacy – this is for you to inherit, so grasp the baton and RUN!

ukwells.org is the most comprehensive collection of Revival history in the UK. It will inspire and fire you! There probably was a revival near you that you never heard of before! God is raising His end-time army of radical, lovers of Jesus and people, led by the Holy Spirit and believing nothing is impossible! Let's be of one heart and mind so that nothing shall be impossible to us!
